This
splendid alpine tour takes us along the "Trans Canadian Highway"
from Calgary to Bellingham just short of Vancouver city, passing through
the spectacular scenic areas of the Banff, Joho and Glacier National parks.
Although, there are some rather strenuous and difficult sections to tackle
when cycling this route, the adventure value is well worth the effort.
You'll have nosey mountain goats peering down at you as you cross over
the high passes as well as grazing herds of elk just off of the highway
when passing through some of the traffic sparse Parkways. Tall pines,
turquoise colored lakes and crisp, cool fresh air make this trip a memorable
one indeed.
Following the steep and winding highway sections through
the valleys of the Thompson and Frazer rivers observing the daily rafting
expeditions tackling the fast and wild white water sections is not only
highly interesting but also great fun.
Soon, we'll be cycling down from the high "Rockies"
to the flatter regions of the northern West Coast, where our trip now
ends on reaching the busy metropolis of Vancouver.
